Please note that pit to pit means armpit to armpit measured flat, please note this is the chest measurements with added breathing room. For example if you measure up as a 38" chest, you'd purchase a 38" chest but if it measured EXACTLY 38 inches, you wouldn't be able to move, so the manufacturer (in this case us) puts extra room in the item to allow a good fit in which you can get a jumper under etc.
